
As a graphic designer passionate about bringing brands to life, I was thrilled to collaborate with the New Jersey Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NJAND) to give their logo and branding a fresh, modern update. This project was more than just a design overhaul—it was an opportunity to align their visual identity with their mission of advancing the practice of dietetics and promoting optimal nutrition and health for New Jersey residents.
Why the Change?
The world of nutrition is constantly evolving, and NJAND wanted their branding to reflect this dynamism and their role as a leading voice in the field. Their existing logo served its purpose but no longer fully represented the vibrancy, professionalism, and innovation of the association. A new branding strategy was needed to better capture their identity and resonate with both current and prospective members.
The Design Process
Crafting a new logo and branding for NJAND started with understanding their mission, values, and audience. I wanted the design to evoke trust, professionalism, and forward-thinking, while also incorporating elements that connect to the field of nutrition and dietetics within the State of New Jersey. Here’s a glimpse into the process:
Research & Inspiration I explored the world of nutrition and health-focused organizations, noting trends and identifying unique ways to make NJAND stand out. Key themes included freshness, growth, and community—values integral to NJAND’s mission.
Logo Redesign The updated logo incorporates clean lines, modern typography, and a subtle nod to health and wellness through color and design elements. The use of greens and blues symbolizes vitality, growth, and trust, while the overall composition reflects a balance between professionalism and approachability. The blueberry also happens to be the State fruit.
New Branding Elements Beyond the logo, the branding includes a cohesive color palette, typography, and visual elements to ensure consistency across all platforms—whether on their website, social media, or print materials. These elements were designed to feel fresh, inviting, and timeless, while ensuring they remain adaptable for future uses.

A refreshed logo and cohesive branding give the association a competitive edge, making them more recognizable and aligned with their mission of advancing nutrition and dietetics in New Jersey.
